Jana Lightspeed’s Passion for Technology and Women in Business

Jan lightspeed is an expert in technology and developing strategies for economic advancement.

Prior to Lightspeed venture, Jana lightspeed is a co-founder of #ANGELS. This is a forum that encourages women to get into business and more so in areas believed to be male-dominated. As female investors, they collectively invest in more than 80 companies distributed in various industries such as cameo, bird, Winnie, and aero.

Jana nurtured her skills at Netflix where she served as the director of business development. In her position, she was responsible for building the company partnerships. She also worked for twitter where she served as the vice president of global business development. At twitter she was responsible for the company sales, developing relations with the outside world and managing strategic partnerships.

Before joining the international firms, Jana lightspeed worked for DivX where she served as senior manager of global sales and at SmartDrive where she served as the director of strategic accounts. Throughout her career life, Jana has been blending her technology skills with entrepreneurship skills.

Jana encourages operators in the tech industry to learn how to code. She has worked in both the technical and non-technical fields. She has had an interest in technology in her entire career life. She attended the University of Illinois where she earned her degree in computer engineering.

Besides investing in startup companies, Jana has passion in hosting events. In her events, she mainly encourages her fellow women to startup businesses. She encourages young girls to pursue courses which were formerly known to be male-dominated. In her view, for the economy to grow, the minorities must be brought on board and be taught how to create wealth.
